The American Red Cross wants to remind the community a need for blood is still present.
To help meet this need the Red Cross will be holding multiple blood drives in the community this coming month.
Susan Faler, spokesperson for The American Red Cross, says the need is now more prevalent due to states reopening and elective procedures taking place.
With COVID-19 still ongoing, Faler details measures they have implemented to maintain the safety of workers and donors.
The next area blood drive will be held in Olpe on May 26. This blood drive is a special scholarship drive that will grant a scholarship to the student who brings in the most donors.
Donors are also highly encouraged to make their life-saving appointment before arriving via redcrossblood.org or by calling 800-RED-CROSS.
