Ag producers can learn more about the US Department of Agriculture’s plans for helping them through the coronavirus pandemic.
USDA has scheduled a webinar at noon Thursday to walk producers through the application process for CARES Act stimulus funding. USDA is planning $16 billion in direct payment, with funding based on actual losses where prices and market supply chains have been negative impacted. The money will help producers with losses resulting from lower demand and what USDA calls short-term oversupply. Details about the payment process will be announced soon, according to USDA.
