Earlier this week, Osage County announced it was opening its courthouse to the public as part of the state’s COVID-19 Phase One recovery plan. Morris County has announced a plan for a limited reopening of county services, but not the courthouse.
Public Transportation will be scheduled on a case-by-case basis only for medically-necessary trips. Noxious Weed will be open weekdays from 8 am to 4 pm, while the Transfer Station will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 9 am to 4:45 pm. The county’s recycle center remains closed.
With the courthouse remaining closed until further notice, Morris County is reminding residents to call, email or mail the department they need whenever possible — and set an appointment for in-person services only when it can’t be avoided.
Courthouses in Chase and Coffey counties have been open by appointment only, and that trend continues at this time. Greenwood County has all its employees back to work but will remain closed to the public until at least May 18.
The Lyon County Courthouse has had restricted access since the pandemic began, and that continues until further notice. The county encourages people to call the different departments they need, either for help or to set up an appointment.
