An Emporia native who had developed a music career in Nashville has died.
Cady Groves was 30 when she passed away over the weekend. The Tennesseean, Nashville’s daily newspaper, cites Groves’ publicity company in saying foul play and self-harm are not suspected. The Tennesseean also quotes her brother in saying Groves had medical issues last fall.
Groves had two successful acoustic-pop albums, “A Month of Sundays” in 2009 and “The Life of a Pirate” in 2010. She then signed with RCA Records and had singles including “This Little Girl” and “Love Actually” with the label.
Groves had released an independent CD in 2015 and was working on new material for release this upcoming summer at the time of her death.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
