Another activity has been pulled from the local community calendar because of COVID-19.
Camp Alexander’s Board of Directors has announced it will not open the facility just east of Emporia for summer camp. Spokesperson Carla Fessler says coronavirus has dovetailed with the camp’s summer food service not having enough workers to provide meals even if the facility could open without virus concerns.
Fessler says the board discussed several options for holding summer camp before reaching its decision. Board members are now looking ahead to holding summer camp next year.
