Kansas is taking big steps to help art organizations across the state.
Last Friday Governor Laura Kelly announced that $500,000 in grant funding will be made available to Kansas art organizations experiencing financial difficulties as a result of COVID-19. Grants will be available to nonprofit 501(c)(3) art organizations whose primary purpose is to produce, present, promote, or serve the arts.
The Kansas Department of Commerce and the Kansas Creative Industries Arts Commission will distribute CARES Act arts funds through the Short-Term Operational Support Program.
Applications will be accepted from May 4 to May 15.
