The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce, Emporia Main Street and Lyon County Public Health are urging local businesses to demonstrate the steps they are taking to make sure their locations are as safe as possible during the current coronavirus pandemic.
Chamber President and CEO Jeanine McKenna says the three organizations have developed signs showing businesses have a COVID-19 plan, including disinfection and sanitation plans, physical distancing, protective gear, employee training and temperature or system checks. It also lets businesses show a maximum occupancy.
Lyon County Public Health is urging businesses to take a range of steps to keep both employees and patrons safe, including the use of masks and the new signs — which are free to download at the Chamber’s website, www.emporiakschamber.org, and available for viewing at the Chamber’s Facebook page.
Health Officer Renee Hively and Emergency Management Director Jarrod Fell will join KVOE’s Newsmaker segment at 7:15 am Monday.
