One woman suffered minor injuries while working in a field near Olpe Saturday morning.
The Emporia Fire Department, Lyon County Deputies and Olpe First Responders were called to the 700 block of Road H near Olpe shortly before 9 am for a reported injury accident. However; according to Lyon County Sgt. Doug Stump the accident actually involved a Trackhoe excavator and an unidentified female.
According to Stump, while working in the area the woman came to close to the excavator’s bucket and was struck. The individual suffered non-emergent injuries according to the Emporia Fire Department but was still taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment.
The woman’s name will not be released.
