For the first time this week, Lyon County Public Health is reporting single-digit increases in the number of positive COVID-19 tests.
Public Health says Lyon County had nine positive tests and six probable positives. The total of confirmed and probable positive cases is now at 270, with 227 of those confirmed. Public Health is reporting 198 active cases.
Lyon County Public Health also says there are five confirmed clusters, the biggest of which is at Tyson, which has 128 total cases and 118 currently active — or nearly 60 percent of the county’s active caseload. Tyson has nearly 980 employees. The other four clusters account for 32 total cases, with 19 patients now recovered.
Public Health reported 16 positive tests Tuesday, 12 Wednesday and 15 Thursday. The department changed its reporting timetable from afternoon to morning on Monday and did not issue a report that day.
Wabaunsee County is reporting 3 new cases for 23 positive tests. There have been 2 recoveries and now have 21 active cases.
Coffey County is reporting no change from Wednesday’s report. They are reporting 5 active cases. There have been 48 positive tests with 35 recoveries and 8 deaths in Coffey County.
Chase County based on their latest available update is reporting 3 active cases.
Morrris, Osage and Greenwood counties are reporting no active cases.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment in Friday’s update is reporting 211 new cases statewide for 4,449 cases. There was 1 new death for 130.
Wyandotte County is reporting 710 cases, Ford County is reporting 702 cases, Seward County is reporting 514 cases and Johnson County is reporting 471 cases.
