Are you looking for new activities to do with your children as social distancing restrictions remain in place?
Then look no further than the parking lot of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at 1508 West 12th Ave. Church member Terri Summey recently began offering free take and make learning kits for pre-k to elementary-aged children. Summey details the contents of each kit.
While the kits are aimed towards younger children, Summey says they’re something the entire family can enjoy as well.
All of the kits are put together by Summey and other church members. Summey says the cost of supplies for the kits has been covered partially out of pocket and partially through a grant given to the church from Thrivent Financial, a Fortune 500 not-for-profit financial services organization headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota,
Last week’s focus for the kits was the transformation from caterpillars to butterflies. This week’s lesson will be the plant cycle.
Any parents who would like to pick up one of the free learning kits may do so by stopping by the St. Mark’s parking lot between 11 am and 1 pm and 4 pm and 6 pm on Friday and again from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday.
