The Lyon County Commission will convene for its weekly action session Thursday morning.
Thursday’s agenda will include consideration of approval for a resolution presented by Assistant Lyon County Engineer Jim Brull declaring certain roads in the county’s jurisdiction as minimum maintenance roads. Community Corrections Director Steven Willis will also present four grant applications for approval by the commission.
Lyon County Zoning and Floodplain Manager Sam Seeley will also present the county with an award of excellence from the American Planning Association, County Planning Division and the National Association for County Planners for the Emporia Lyon County joint comprehensive plan. Last year the county was recognized by the Kansas chapter of the American Planning Association for the comprehensive plan.
Two executive sessions are also planned for non-elected personnel and legal matters. The meeting begins at 9 am and will be available on the county’s Facebook page.
