There will be no law enforcement memorial ceremonies at the state or local levels.
The Lyon County Law Enforcement Memorial Service was set for May 14 but is among the many community activities taken off the calendar due to coronavirus. The ceremony has included prayers, a reading of names of Kansas officers killed in the line of duty over the last decade and a balloon release.
Meanwhile, the Kansas Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony has also been canceled due to COVID-19. That was set for May 21-22 in Topeka.
