Camso has announced it is closing both Emporia plants this week as the coronavirus pandemic continues.
Brand and Internal Communications Manager Martine Cormier says the closure of the manufacturing and remanufacturing plants will last through the upcoming weekend.
This comes despite what Camso calls “adequate preventative measures” in place, but Cormier says temporary suspension of operations are part of what the company calls “all necessary actions to limit the spread of the virus and the consequences of the pandemic for its employees, customers and partners.”
Cormier did not say whether an employee at either facility had contracted the virus, although she said Michelin Group, which includes Camso will not disclose the number of workers involved.
