The driver of a car was taken to Newman Regional Health for medical treatment after a two-vehicle crash in west Emporia on Thursday.
Emporia Police and Emporia Fire were called to US Highway 50 and Industrial Road after a reported crash with injuries just west of the intersection around 3:20 pm. Emporia Police says the car driver was northbound on Industrial Road and, according to the early investigation, ran a red light. The westbound semi then broadsided the car on the passenger side.
The semi driver was not hurt.
