Financial updates and improvement projects will highlight discussions for the Emporia City Commission Wednesday.
Commissioners will receive a financial update before receiving an update on the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s stormwater runoff requirements. The requirements are a point-based system through KDHE that allows the city to maintain its Kansas Water Pollution Control permit through its expiration date of Oct. 31, 2024. The permit allows the city to discharge stormwater from the city limits into designated waters.
Separately BG Consultants will discuss the scheduled replacement and rehab of sanitary sewer lift stations 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 15. Commissioners will also receive an additional financial report from City Manager Mark McAnarney.
The meeting will begin at 10 am via Zoom and will be available to the public on Facebook.
