Emporia Police have arrested one person after a pursuit in west Emporia on Saturday afternoon.
Police Sgt. Lisa Sage says officers responded to the area of 18th and Industrial Road south of Interstate 35 around 4:30 pm after a report of an aggravated assault incident involving a driver of a Penske rental truck in the Walmart parking lot. The driver, later identified as 49-year-old Jennifer Suzanne Fisher of Emporia, allegedly did not stop for officers and a pursuit began.
Fisher drove south on Industrial and then went west on US Highway 50 before turning into the John North Ford parking lot. She allegedly hit a parked vehicle with the rental truck and was then taken into custody.
Formal charges of aggravated assault, interference with law enforcement and traffic offenses are pending through the Lyon County Attorney’s Office.
