The Emporia State softball, baseball, Football and Mens tennis teams will finish in the top 10 in the nation, in community service in Division II.
The softball team is 4th, the baseball team is 7th, and the football and mens tennis teams are 8th in their respective sports.
Emporia State Deputy Director of Athletics Kristy Bayer says performing community service is a big part of being a Student Athlete at Emporia State.
Bayer also credits the Coaches for making community service a priority.
Bayer says that community service includes a number activities.
From July 1st until school was halted Emporia State athletes performed 5598 hours of community service with 91 percent participation.
10 of the 12 sports had 100 percent participation.
Track and Field athlete Erica Self performed 136 hours of community service.
