Road work is coming Wednesday for a three-mile stretch on Americus Road.
The Lyon County Highway Department announced Tuesday that they will be closing Americus Road between Roads 260 and 290, roughly 2-5 miles north of Americus. The closure is due to a leveling and overlay project being overseen by Apac Kansas, Inc. Shears Division.
The project is scheduled to last at least two days but could be extended due to outside circumstances. The section will not be fully closed according to the Lyon County Highway Department, a flagger will be used to help keep traffic flowing through the area.
