School district administrators across the KVOE listening area are hoping the coronavirus pandemic eases soon so they can schedule some special activities for their upperclassmen.
USD 251 North Lyon County has set aside July 18 at the Northern Heights football field for graduation and July 25 at the Granada Theatre for prom if the situation allows. Interim Superintendent Mike Mathes says the seniors deserve a chance to have these events if at all possible.
USD 252 Southern Lyon County is working on several possible dates as it tries to reschedule spring commencement. Here’s Superintendent Mike Argabright:
USD 420 Osage City has also announced a tentative graduation date of 7 pm July 18 at the school’s football field. Other districts have not announced plans for prom, graduation or both.
