Students, staff and parents have adjusted well to the COVID-19 changes wrought at Emporia Christian School.
Principal Trisha Fullerton offered that perspective on KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Friday. She says the combination of online and packet learning has largely gone smoothly, and she credits something else for that early success: stability, or as much stability as you can have given the circumstances.
Fullerton says technology has not been an issue for most students, and she recognized parents for their support and their adaptability as they change their schedules to help their youngsters learn.
Christian School administrators got good news earlier this week when the childcare was removed from a mandatory two-week quarantine. Fullerton says one person with direct connections to the school tested positive for coronavirus, so all with possible direct contact had to go into quarantine along with the 14-day shutdown of the facility. Only one person suffered similar symptoms but that person tested negative.
