Saying “they don’t train you for this,” Sacred Heart Principal Darby O’Neill says his school continues adjusting to life in light of COVID-19.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Thursday, O’Neill said there is the obvious change in education method from the traditional in-class setting to a combination of online and packet learning — what he likened to an athlete becoming a video game star in short order. However, there’s another adjustment not getting as much attention.
O’Neill says the school went through several different plans but had to change or scrap those as new information about coronavirus came out. The Archdiocese of Kansas City began advising principals about possible changes in February. Planning locally began in early March.
Our current look at Lyon County’s education adjustments wraps up with Emporia Christian School Principal Trisha Fullerton on KVOE’s Newsmaker segment at 7:15 am Friday.
