One person was taken from the scene of a single-motorcycle accident in west Emporia Tuesday evening.
Emporia Police and first responders were called to the intersection of Industrial Road and West Highway 50 in front of the Bowyer Community Building for an injury accident shortly after 9 pm. According to Emporia Police Lt. Scott Stormont a motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Industrial road in the left hand turn lane when for unknown reasons the rider lost control and struck the raised median causing him to lay the bike down.
Lt. Stormont says the rider was up and cognizant when emergency crews arrived on scene. The rider was taken from the scene with suspected minor injuries.
