USD 252 Southern Lyon County Superintendent Mike Argabright is pleased with the first week of continuous learning for his district.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Tuesday, Argabright said there has been a high level of participation and engagement, and he says the district’s use of 1-to-1 technology has helped to minimize some potential issues with online learning. The district has also received help from Wheat State and Mercury Wireless, two of its internet providers, to help increase Internet access for families.
One of the main concerns with any continuous learning model is the amount of screen time. USD 252 is no exception.
Argabright says the district spent several weeks developing the game plan and also getting parents and students engaged. Speaking of engagement, Argabright says the district seems to be more connected on a personal level than it was before COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the USD 252 Southern Lyon County Board of Education is meeting Wednesday morning.
Board members will get an update on the district’s continuous learning plan now in place for a week-plus. A conversation about facilities is also planned.
The meeting will be at 11 am. Residents interested in the meeting are encouraged to watch on Zoom. Click here for the website information.
