Cold overnight temperatures have set the stage for a hard freeze Saturday.
The National Weather Service has put Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties in a freeze warning from 3-9 am Saturday. Temperatures could fall to the mid- and upper 20s — and unlike early Friday, which had similar temperatures and winds consistently between 15 and 30 mph, winds will be 10 mph or less after midnight Saturday.
Crops and outdoor plants could suffer, and unprotected outdoor plumbing could be affected.
