Governor Laura Kelly says some state government operations will resume next week.
Government operations were suspended March 23 due to coronavirus. Kelly says operations and service delivery will start Monday, but all employees who can work remotely will do so.
So-called public-facing offices, including the Division of Motor Vehicles and the Office of Vital Statistics, will remain closed during the state’s stay-home order.
The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism followed the governor’s announcement by saying state parks, fishing lakes and wildlife areas are open to the public, although the Chase County Sheriff’s Office has said it has reached an agreement with the department close Chase County State Lake. All spring hunting and fishing seasons will continue as planned, but hunters traveling from states listed on the KDHE quarantine list must quarantine themselves for two full weeks before they start hunting or check into a state park cabin.
