Emporia firefighters put out a grass fire Wednesday afternoon.
Fire Capt. Jesse Taylor says Lyon County District 4, Emporia’s rural fire unit, responded to the 1200 block of Road K, just north of the Emporia Municipal Airport, after the fire was reported shortly before 1:30 pm. About 30 acres burned before firefighters got the blaze under control.
No injuries were reported and the fire was kept in open country. The cause is undetermined.
