Emporia Firefighters made quick work of an illegal burn Sunday evening.
Fire crews and Emporia Police responded to 316 West Street shortly before 9 pm for a report of an illegal burn in the backyard of a residence. Battalion Chief Tony Fuller says once at the residence firefighters found, and quickly extinguished a “recreational fire in a non-approved container” six feet from the home.
No injuries or damage to the home was reported. No citations were given out as a result.
