Newman Regional Health is continuing its suspension of certain services in response to the spread of COVID-19.
The hospital has decided to cancel all non-emergency Family Medicine and Pediatrics clinic appointments as of Friday. The decision was made in accordance with recommendations from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Lyon County Public Health.
According to a news release from the hospital, the changes will help to “preserve the team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and reception staff so they can continue to provide assistance to patients with the most urgent medical needs. Additionally, the hospital will be contacting patients regarding their currently scheduled appointments at which time they may be rescheduled for another date.
The types of hospital visits currently being rescheduled include but are not limited to:
* Physicals
* Wellness exams
* Well-child checks
* Screening/diagnostic studies
The hospital is currently planning to re-evaluate the decision on Apr. 3. For more information contact Newman Regional Health at 620-343-2376.
