Severe weather continues to be a possibility for the KVOE listening area through the early morning Friday.
Severe thunderstorm warnings for Morris and Wabaunsee counties have officially been canceled by the National Weather Service Friday. However, the local area is not out of the woods as it pertains to severe weather chances just yet.
A severe thunderstorm warning currently remains in place for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties until 5 am Friday. All hazards are still possible with the major concerns being hail and high wind.

The National Weather Service has canceled a severe thunderstorm for one are county while another remains in effect.
The severe thunderstorm warning issued for Morris County has officially been canceled. A severe thunderstorm warning continues for Wabaunsee County until 12:30 am Friday with golf ball sized hail and high winds, upwards of 50 mph, as the main concerns.
Separately, Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties remain in a severe thunderstorm watch until 5 am Friday morning.

Midnight: UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning extended; now includes Wabaunsee County
Severe weather has begun to make its way through the KVOE listening area.
The National Weather Service has now extended an earlier severe thunderstorm warning for Morris County from midnight to 12:30 am Friday. Additionally NWS has now added Wabaunsee County to the warning.
The major concerns are golf ball sized hall which could cause damage to cars, roofs, windows and house siding along with wind gusts up to 50 mph.
Separately, Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties remain in a severe thunderstorm watch until 5 am Friday morning.

11:15 pm Thursday: Severe thunderstorm warning for Morris County
Severe weather is possible through the evening hours Thursday into the early morning Friday.
The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Morris County until midnight Friday. This follows a severe thunderstorm watch which was issued for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties which remains in place until 5 am Friday.
All hazards are possible with this storm, however, the major concerns are for penny to nickel sized hail and wind gusts as high as 60 mph.
