Thursday, March 26th is the 10th anniversary of the Emporia State womens basketball team winning the NCAA Division II national Championship.
The Lady Hornets defeated Fort Lewis 65-53 to win the national title.
Head Coach Brandon Schnedier said that team had all the right ingredients.
Ali Volkens was the leading scorer for the Lady Hornets finishing with 16 points and 15 rebounds. She was named the Elite 8 MVP. Volkens also scored 28 points in the quarterfinal win over Michigan Tech and scored 20 points in the semi-final win over previously undefeated and number 1 seed Gannon.
