Osage County has announced a new series of restrictions pertaining to local businesses and public gatherings as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
In a news release Monday morning, the Osage County Board of Health announced the new restrictions will apply to all restaurants, dining facilities, bars, taverns, community centers, fitness centers, and clubs. Each of these establishments have been ordered to close effective noon Monday until further notice, however, they will still be allowed to offer carryout, drive-through and delivery food and beverage services.
The restrictions also prohibit any “large gatherings of people in the county.” According to the restrictions, this means any planned gatherings, indoor or outdoor, with more than ten people attending or planning to attend except for governmental functions and deemed essential industries as defined by US Homeland Security.
Religious services, funerals, memorial services and meetings defined by the Internal Revenue Service will be an exception to this order, however, proper social distancing guidelines must be followed.
Establishments are ordered to continuing following guidance by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as local and federal health professionals. For any questions or concerns, residents are asked to call Osage County Public Health Department at (785) 828-3117, or to the Osage County COVID-19 Hotline at (785) 219-1680.
