Restrictions continue to tighten at Newman Regional Health Medical Partners to help protect patients from contracting coronavirus.
A new set of “high restriction guidelines” was issued Monday morning for all six of the Newman Medical Partners clinics. The new restrictions now only allow the patient themselves to enter the clinic. Family, friends or caregivers will not be permitted unless the patient is unable to come alone, at which point they are asked to call ahead so staff may make necessary arrangements.
For child appointments, only one parent may be allowed to accompany them and siblings will not be permitted. A screening will be completed before anyone is allowed to enter the clinic, this includes a temperature check and verbal screening.
Depending on the patient’s reason for the visit, they will be directed to a specific area of the waiting room. Finally, morning appointments have been designated to well visits, such as physicals, allergy appointments and child wellness appointments. Meanwhile, afternoon appointments have been designated specifically for sick visits.
Newman also reminds all residents of the importance of social distancing and proper precautionary methods such as good hand washing, covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze and not shaking hands with others.
