All area public school districts have set up “grab-and-go” meal programs for their students to get through the coronavirus situation as school buildings remain closed through the rest of the academic year.
Below are service times and pickup locations for each area district:
*USD 253 Emporia: 11:30 am to 1 pm. Locations include Emporia Middle School, Logan Avenue, Riverside, Village, Walnut and William Allen White
*USD 251 North Lyon County: Times vary. Locations include Americus Elementary/North Lyon County Middle School (11:30 am to 12:30 pm, south side of the school), Allen Senior Center (11:30-11:45 am, front entrance), Admire Community Center (12-12:15 pm, parking lot), Reading Performance Sports (11:30-11:45 am, front entrance)
*USD 252 Southern Lyon County: 11 am to 12:30 pm. Locations include Hartford High School, Neosho Rapids Elementary and Olpe schools
*USD 243 Lebo-Waverly: Email janet.reese@usd243ks.org to set up meal service
*USD 284 Chase County: 11 am to 12:30 pm. Locations inlclude the east side of Chase County Junior-Senior High School, east side of Chase County Elementary, Saffordville old school building, Elmdale Methodist Church and Cedar Point Post Office
*USD 386 Madison-Virgil: 10 am to noon. Locations include Madison Elementary and Madison City Hall
*USD 417 Council Grove: 11 am to noon. Locations include Council Grove Junior-Senior High School and Prairie Heights Elementary
*USD 420 Osage City: 11 am to noon and 5-6 pm. Locations include Osage City Elementary or Dogwood Glen
*USD 421 Lyndon: 11 am to noon or 6-7 pm Mondays. Location is Lyndon High northwest parking lot
*USD 456 Marais des Cygnes Valley: 12-12:30 pm. Locations include Melvern and Quenemo school buildings
