Dense fog advisories are up for the KVOE listening area Monday morning.
Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are covered by an advisory until 10 am. Chase and Greenwood counties are in a separate advisory until 11 am.
Thick fog is evident Monday morning in Emporia. Visibility has been down to a block in some cases.
Drivers will need to slow down, use low-beam headlights and increase the distance between vehicles while the fog is in place.
Meanwhile, the area has a low-level severe weather risk early Tuesday morning. There is a slight-to-marginal risk, mainly for hail, between midnight and sunrise.
Sunday had off-and-on drizzle and showers. The KVOE studios picked up around half an inch of rain. The Emporia Municipal Airport got 0.37 inches.
