It’s finally happened. Gas is under $2 a gallon in Emporia.
Almost all local gas prices are now at $1.99 a gallon, with one holding at $2.05.
Gas prices have been in free fall across Kansas with a massive price war on oil underway between Saudi Arabia and Russia for two weeks and an overabundance of supply that has come as a result. Statewide, gas is as low as $1.29 a gallon at the Prairie Band casino near Mayetta and $1.49 near Vassar. Areawide, GasBuddy.com lists the low price as $1.69 in Eureka and Lyndon. Other towns like Burlington, Council Grove and Osage City are also under $2 a gallon.
