The coronavirus pandemic is now beginning to affect operations at the local judicial level through the next several months.
Lyon County District Court announced Tuesday afternoon all jury trials scheduled through June 1 are being continued pending further order of the court. Any juror who has received a summons for trials from Mar. 17 through June 1 will not need to report on the designated date.
Any and all jurors scheduled for that time frame will now be returned to the jury pool and may receive a new summons later this year. Instructions have been given for litigants, attorneys and visitors who have cases scheduled to begin in this time frame and may begin feeling unwell.
