With the risk of Coronavirus increasing, there are talks within the community about how to handle the situation.
On Monday both Flint Hills Technical College and the Emporia Recreation Commission will hold meetings to discuss the issue.
Flint Hills Technical College will hold its Board of Trustees meeting at 4 PM in Conference Room C on the colleges’ campus.
In the meeting, they will discuss Covid-19 (Coronavirus) after deciding Thursday to halt face to face classes Monday and offering remote access until further notice. The Garnett Automotive training center site and the cost of tuition and fees for the 2020-2021 school year will also be discussed.
The Emporia Recreation Commission will be holding its board meeting at 5:30 pm at the Lee Beran Recreation Center.
In the meeting, they will discuss Covid-19 (Coronavirus). Discussion about 1A Sub-State basketball and the continuation of the 5A state basketball tournament will occur. They will also discuss the renewal of the Jones Aquatic Center management agreement, and the new recreation center building hours for April through September. There will also be reports from the assistant director of Business, and the assistant director of operations.
