The coronavirus pandemic is forcing a lot of adjustments across the KVOE listening area, across Kansas and across the country.
Flint Hills Technical College will take the same steps as Emporia State University, ending in-person classroom time next week, shifting totally to remote education by March 23, and canceling campus events starting March 16 and continuing until further notice. Faculty must attend a meeting on campus at 8 am March 16.
School districts are gauging their responses, including ongoing conversations with county emergency management directors, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Kansas State Department of Education. USD 243 Lebo-Waverly will not have class Friday due to the potential exposure to or spread of germs. The district has spring break next week.
The Kansas count is up to four confirmed cases after three new cases were announced by KDHE in Johnson County. All are unrelated to the first case announced this past weekend.
