In response to concerns over the spread of coronavirus the Big-12 has cancelled the rest of the mens and womens basektball tournaments.
The Big 12 Conference canceled its men’s and women’s basketball tournaments before Thursday’s games at the Sprint Center and Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
“I feel terrible for the seniors Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said he expects that NCAA president Mark Emmert will follow the suit of the Big 12 and other conferences that canceled tournaments when it comes to the future of this month’s NCAA Tournament. He said the NCAA was actively working on a decision for March Madness.
Kansas was scheduled to play Oklahoma State.
Kansas State was scheduled to play Baylor after defeating TCU 53-49 Wednesday night.
The the AAC, ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12, SEC and Atlantic 10 have also canceled their league basketball tournaments.
