Strong thunderstorms have triggered the first severe thunderstorm warning of the 2020 severe weather season.
Southwest Chase County was under a severe storm warning for nearly an hour early Wednesday. Reports of storm activity are currently pending.
A marginal risk of severe weather has been in place south and west of Emporia since around midnight. Hail and gusty winds are the main concerns until around sunrise.
