Emporia’s Altrusa Club turned the American Legion into a casino Saturday night, if only for a few hours.
The club’s annual Casino Night brought a good crowd to the Legion for fun and fundraising through games like roulette, craps, poker, blackjack and bingo. Longtime club member and event organizer Jean Tidwell says the club members set the tone well before the event takes place.
Totals are pending but should be announced this week. Proceeds typically go to SOS, CASA of the Flint Hills, Plumb Place, scholarships and literacy efforts.
