The Emporia State softball team swept Missouri Southern in a doubleheader Saturday.
The Lady Hornets won the first game 9-1 in 5 innings. They blew the door open with 6 runs in the 4th inning. Rachel Kauss was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI. Hannah Steeby hit a 2 run homerun in the 4th inning. Kerrigan Dixon was the winning pitcher giving up 1 run on 4 hits with 4 strikeouts.
Emporia State won the 2nd game 4-2. Brittanie Shepherd drove in 2 runs with a single as part of a 4 run 2nd inning.
The Emporia State softball team is now 15-8 for the season and 3-1 in the MIAA.
