The Emporia State women advance to the MIAA Tournament Championship game with a 61-52 win over Nebraska Kearney Saturday.
The two teams were tied at 13 after the first quarter. The Lady Hornets out scored the Lopers 20-10 in the 2nd quarter and never gave up the lead. Emporia State did stretch the lead to 17 points early in the 4th quarter before Kearney cut that lead to 6. Emporia State was able hold of the late run for the win. Coach Toby Wynn called it a gut check win.
Mollie Mounsey scored a game high 20 points.
Tre’Zure Jobe added 11 points. Jalyn Harris added 9 points and 9 rebounds.
The Lady Hornets will play Central Missouri in the MIAA Tournament Championship game with tip-off at 1pm.
