A Hays man was hospitalized after a single-vehicle rollover accident on the Kansas Turnpike Saturday morning.
The accident occurred at KTA mile marker 126.6 just south of the KTA Emporia tollbooth shortly before 3:40 am. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, 28-year-old Trenton Berens of Hays was traveling southbound on the turnpike at a “high rate of speed” when he lost control and the vehicle rolled as a result.
Berens was taken to Newman Regional Health following the accident with suspected minor injuries.

One person was taken to Newman Regional Health early Saturday morning following a one-vehicle rollover accident on the Kansas Turnpike.
The accident occurred at the KTA on-ramp at mile marker 126 just south of the Emporia tollbooth just before 3:40 am. Details on the cause of the accident are currently pending, however, the Emporia Fire Department tells KVOE News the driver, a currently unnamed male, was taken to Newman with undisclosed injuries.
