Lyon County will host two political candidates for national office in the next few days.
Roger Marshall
On Saturday, Kansas Congressman Roger Marshall will stop in Americus to meet with ag producers as he continues his campaign for US Senate. Marshall, one of several Republicans and Democrats hoping to replace the retiring Pat Roberts, will be at the USD 251 North Lyon County School Board office from 10:15 to 11:15 am.
Christy Cauble Davis
A Democrat seeking to replace Marshall in the US House will be in Emporia on Monday. Christy Cauble Davis, the former director of the Symphony in the Flint Hills, will be the featured guest at the Lyon County Democrats’ March meeting, which starts at 6:30 pm at the Lyon County Courthouse Annex. Davis is also among a crowded field of candidates hoping to represent the Kansas First District in the House, which involves Lyon, Chase, Morris and Wabaunsee counties.
