The second annual Kansas Miss Amazing pageant will be held at Emporia High School this coming Saturday.
Pageant organizer Michelle Roberts spoke with KVOE about how the pageant benefits the women who participate.
The Miss Amazing pageant is designed to give girls and women with disabilities a sense of the skills they need in life. The minimum age requirement is 5 years old with no maximum age, and Roberts says there are currently 18 girls signed up to take part. Participants can check in as soon as 5 pm Friday or they can wait until 10 am Saturday. The talent, skills and interview portions of the event begin at 11 am Saturday.
For those coming to support the pageant, activities take place from 4-6 pm, and tickets are available at the door for $10.
Anyone looking to join the pageant can still sign up at www.ks.missamazing.org/participate.
