A lot is planned for the 2020 Symphony in the Flint Hills.
The event is June 13 at the Wade Pasture near Eskridge and will feature the Kansas City Symphony as well as 15-time Grammy Award winner Bela Fleck. On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Friday, Director of Engagement Gwen Obermeyer said people can enjoy a wide variety of activities.
Last year’s concert was canceled due to damage from high winds, and event organizers have developed two backup plans if a similar situation happens. The postponement date is June 14, meaning the activities will simply be pushed back a day but Fleck can’t perform due to a prior scheduling conflict. If the concert is canceled, there will be ticket refunds.
A pre-sale for Wabaunsee County residents begins Monday with tickets for the general public going on sale March 7. Tickets will be $95 plus tax, with tickets for children ages 12 and under at $50. More information is available at www.symphonyintheflinthills.org or by calling 620-273-8955.
