So far, no major issues have developed from occasional snowfall Tuesday.
Snow was moderate to heavy in short bursts, especially in Chase County where a winter storm warning for several hours. Snow totals and estimates are pending.
In Emporia, snow melted as it reached the surface with temperatures in the mid-30s for most of the day.
As far as travel is concerned, the only major highway in the area that’s still affected by snow is the Kansas Turnpike, which is partially snow-covered from Emporia southwest past Wichita.
