For the most part, plans and policies will be the featured items during the Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday.
The board has numerous items to approve as part of the consent agenda, including plans for infection control, patient safety, quality assessment and performance improvement and risk management as well as policies for informed consent, sentinel or adverse events, Medicare discharge notifications, patient rights and responsibilities, patient restraint and complaint resolution.
Also on Wednesday’s agenda is the potential dissolution of Newman Medical Partners. Chief Executive Officer Bob Wright says this would close down the old corporation created when the hospital operated clinics in Madison and Osage City. Both were closed in 2014, but the corporation was never dissolved.
In other business, Chief Financial Officer Holly French will present a nearly $250,000 capital request for roof repairs or replacements at the hospital, School of Nursing and Medical Office Building.
The meeting starts at noon.
