The Emporia State womens and mens basketball teams are on the road Thursday night. They will be in Wichita to play Newman.
The Lady Hornets are tied for 2nd place in the MIAA standings with 4 games to play. The Lady Hornets have won last 5 games including the last two on the road. Sophomore Karsen Schultz says they are playing with confidence.
The Emporia State men are in 13th place. Freshman Gage McGuire hopes they can build off the 2nd half at Northeastern State.
The men have another injury, Mason Thiessen, the 6-9 freshman from Inman, will miss Thursdays game with a concussion. The injury happened in Wednesdays practice.
Game times are 5:30p for the women and 7:30p for the men. Both games will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.

Central Missouri is the top ranked team in the Central Region.
Minnesota Duluth is 2nd, Sioux Falls 3rd. Emporia State is ranked 4th.
Nebraska Kearney is 5th, St. Cloud 6th, Southeastern Oklahoma 7th and Fort Hays State 8th.
Southwestern Oklahoma State is 9th and Central Oklahoma 10th.
